Jada Pinkett Smith is now asking a judge to make Will Smith’s former friend, Bilaal Salaam, cover her $49,000 legal fees, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
According to the report, Jada says she should not be the one paying the bill. She claims she spent the money defending herself after Bilaal sued her and made emotional distress allegations. In her filing, she points out that a judge already threw out part of his claims, which she believes supports her request for him to pay her legal costs.
It was earlier reported Bilaal originally sued Jada over emotional distress. He says he was once close to Will Smith and even helped him with “damage control” after the 2022 Oscars incident where Will slapped Chris Rock.

In his lawsuit, Bilaal also claimed that Jada and people around her threatened him after they found out he was working on a memoir. He says those alleged actions caused him serious emotional harm, including personal struggles like weight loss and leaving the country.
Jada has strongly denied all of this. She says Bilaal has not shown real proof for his claims. She also argues that his story about losing a girlfriend and suffering serious distress is not backed up by evidence. According to her, the lawsuit was meant to attract attention and form part of an ongoing public campaign against her and Will Smith.

Even though part of the case has already been dismissed, the legal fight is not over yet. Both sides are still dealing with what remains in court.
What do you think—as this legal battle continues, will the court decide that Bilaal should cover Jada’s legal fees, and we’ll bring you more details as the case unfolds.
